Open the demo ↗Routeless Go is one website for $99 a month, and you can preview three designs free. Wix is a broader website builder. Its pages list AI creation, drag-and-drop customization, ecommerce, scheduling, marketing, SEO, analytics, and other business tools. To decide, list what your site has to do. Then compare plan limits, total cost, and what you'd need to keep if you leave.
We make Go and wrote this comparison, so keep that in mind. Go has no setup fee. Buying and renewing a domain costs extra. Custom booking, payments, portals, integrations, large migrations, and bespoke design are custom work, scoped separately.
Wix's plans and AI website builder pages describe free website building, paid plans for a custom domain, hosting, AI tools, direct editing, and business apps. A tool listed somewhere on Wix may still need a certain plan, app, payment provider, or usage limit. Check those details in a Wix account for the site you want to build.
Wix's AI website builder page says it creates pages, sections, visuals, and business tools from a description. Wix also documents ongoing edits through its Aria assistant and its drag-and-drop editor. You can start building without a card. Connecting a custom domain and using certain features requires a Premium plan.
In your Go preview, open each of the three designs and check that every page, service, business detail, image, and call to action you need is there. Ask us to show you how changes are made and to point out anything that would count as custom work.
We wrote this from documentation. We didn't use both editors hands-on, so we don't rate speed, design quality, ease of use, accuracy, or reliability. Give both products the same written description of your business, then compare the pages and account controls you get.
Use the same business details, pages, original text, images, forms, and calls to action in both.
Fix a business detail, add a service page, swap an image, change a call to action, and check the phone view.
For each task, note the plan, app, fee, collaborator role, storage limit, and support option it needs.
Go's entries come from its public offer: price, preview, setup, domain, cancellation, and custom work. Wix's entries on the website builder, AI tools, hosting, business tools, ownership, and domain transfer come from Wix's product and Help Center pages. We checked all of them on September 28, 2026.
The table lists what each company says is available and doesn't measure how well it works. In your Go preview or Wix account, check the controls, limits, fees, data access, and export options your business needs.
| Task or term | Routeless Go | Wix | What to verify | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI website creation | Preview three designs without a card | Wix documents prompt-led AI website building, Aria assistance, and a free start without a card | Required pages, original content, image rights, mobile preview, and the paid plan needed for a custom domain | 2026-09-28 |
| Editing and customization | Use the three-design preview to confirm the layout; bespoke design is custom work | Wix documents AI assistance and direct drag-and-drop editing | Who can edit, collaborator permissions, mobile controls, design limits, and the exact change process | 2026-09-28 |
| Ecommerce and business tools | Custom booking, payments, portals, and integrations are outside the included Go scope | Wix documents an online store, scheduling, payments, blogs, email marketing, contacts, and analytics across its platform | Required Wix plan, application, payment provider, transaction fees, product limits, and data export | 2026-09-28 |
| Hosting and SEO | Included in the published website subscription | Wix documents hosting and SEO tools on its platform | Custom-domain setup, redirects, metadata, structured data, sitemap controls, analytics, and access after cancellation | 2026-09-28 |
| Domain | Purchase and renewal charges are separate | Custom-domain connection needs a paid plan; Wix documents transfer away | Registrant name, first-year offer, renewal price, DNS access, authorization code, and transfer locks | 2026-09-28 |
| Ownership and site portability | Ask Routeless what content and records you can retrieve from your account | Wix says the site must run on Wix infrastructure, though site content belongs to the owner | Exportable text, media, contacts, products, orders, bookings, URLs, and the work required to rebuild elsewhere | 2026-09-28 |
Go is $99 per month for each published website, or $1,188 over 12 monthly payments. Domain charges, taxes, and custom work are extra. Wix pricing depends on your location, plan, and billing term. Compare Go with the cheapest Wix plan that covers everything you need, not with a promotional starting price.
Wix's plans page says prices and currency vary by location, reference prices may be based on yearly plans paid in full, and you see the final amount at checkout. The page we checked didn't give one reliable US total for every reader, so we don't list a Wix plan price here.
To get the full Wix cost, add up the billing term you pick, domain renewal after any voucher, business email, paid apps, payment processing, transaction costs, and other connected services. Confirm each amount at Wix checkout. For Go, add your registrar's charges and a written quote for anything outside the standard subscription.
| Cost item | Routeless Go | Wix |
|---|---|---|
| Website subscription | $99 monthly; $1,188 over 12 months at the checked price | Use the current location-specific checkout price for the required Wix plan and billing term |
| Setup | No setup fee | Wix documents free website building; a paid plan is required for a custom domain and other Premium features |
| Domain | Purchase and renewal separate | Select annual plans advertise a first-year new-domain voucher; confirm eligibility and the later renewal price |
| Additional requirements | Custom work quoted separately | Plan upgrades, paid applications, payment processing, email, and other services may change the total |
Wix makes sense if you want to customize the design yourself or need ecommerce, payments, scheduling, blogging, email marketing, or apps, and you're fine running the site on Wix. Make sure one Wix plan you can afford covers the tools, limits, collaborators, and payment terms you need.
Try a Go preview if you need a business website and the $99 monthly price works for you. Check the pages, business details, images, calls to action, and how it looks on a phone. For booking, payments, portals, integrations, large migrations, or bespoke design, ask for a written scope.
Turn each requirement into a yes-or-no question. Who updates the website? How do leads reach you? Does the site take payments or bookings? Which SEO controls are there? Can you export contacts and content? Who owns the domain? What can you still get to after you cancel? Get answers from both before you decide.
Moving your Wix domain and moving your Wix website are two separate jobs. Wix says content you create belongs to you, but a Wix site must run on Wix infrastructure because it uses Wix technology. Wix also documents moving a domain bought through Wix: you unlock it and get an authorization code, subject to transfer restrictions.
Moving the domain doesn't bring your Wix layout, apps, store, forms, scheduling, or page structure to Go. Don't count on an automatic Wix-to-Go import. Ask us which of your text and photos we can use, which pages and tools need rebuilding, and what redirect work is included.
Before you start, write down your registrar, the name on the domain, and your DNS records. List every indexed URL, plus your page text, original photos, forms, contacts, orders, bookings, analytics, email records, and third-party apps. Export whatever Wix supports before you lose account access. Keep the Wix site running until the new domain, redirects, forms, analytics, and email DNS settings all work.
We publish this Routeless Go vs Wix comparison, and we sell Go. Go's price and offer terms come from the Routeless Go product page. Wix's prices, AI builder details, editing, hosting, content ownership, and domain-transfer statements come from the Wix product and Help Center pages listed below, checked September 28, 2026.
We based this page on documentation. We didn't run the same tasks in both products, so we don't claim either editor is faster, easier, more reliable, or performs better. We also don't use customer ratings, output-quality scores, conversion results, or search rankings.
Plans and account controls can change after the date we checked. Use this page to build your requirements list. Then check the price, feature access, usage limits, data export, domain ownership, and what happens when you cancel, in your Go preview and your Wix account.
It depends on the Wix plan, your location, the billing term, any apps, and what your site needs to do. Go is $99 monthly, or $1,188 over 12 monthly payments, before domain charges and custom work. Wix says to go by the final checkout price for your location, so add up the full cost of each before comparing.
Go is one monthly website price with three preview designs, and custom work is scoped separately. Wix is a broader builder whose pages list AI creation, a drag-and-drop editor, ecommerce, scheduling, marketing, analytics, and apps. In practice, it comes down to how much hands-on control and how many business tools you need.
Yes. Wix's AI website builder page describes building a site from a prompt, generated pages and sections, help from Aria, and drag-and-drop customization. Start free, then check which paid Wix plan, apps, storage, collaborator access, and business tools your site will need.
Wix documents moving a domain bought through Wix to another registrar, subject to eligibility and transfer locks. Confirm the name on the registration, the registrar, DNS records, authorization code, email settings, and any waiting period. Ask us for the exact steps to connect it to Go before you change nameservers or cancel your Wix plan.
Don't assume it will. Wix says Wix sites depend on Wix infrastructure, so moving the domain doesn't move the layout or Wix's tools. Plan to list your content, download your photos and files, rebuild pages, map old URLs to new ones, set redirects, and replace forms, apps, your store, scheduling, and other tools separately.
Check your Wix plan and its limits for payments, your online store, scheduling, forms, contacts, analytics, SEO controls, apps, collaborators, storage, domain renewal, and every content or data export you need. Look at the site on a phone, and confirm what you can still reach after you cancel.
Wix's pages list tools small businesses often use, including a website builder, custom domains, forms, ecommerce, scheduling, blogs, marketing, contacts, and analytics. Whether it suits you depends on your plan, budget, what your site has to do, and whether you're comfortable staying on Wix infrastructure. Check each requirement in your account.
