DataForSEO API integration

Routeless Radar uses DataForSEO's live Google SERP APIs to collect structured AI Overview and AI Mode observations. It parses answer text and references, keeps each surface separate, and records a valid no-result when Google returns no AI answer. This is an official API workflow, not scraping or automating the consumer search interface.

Evidence boundary

What the implementation proves.

Radar contains direct DataForSEO providers for Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, with structured answer and reference parsing plus separate result, no-result, and failure paths.

The evidence supports official live API collection. It does not claim consumer-interface scraping, visual equivalence, DataForSEO or Google partnership, or a guarantee that an AI answer will appear.

Verified capabilities

  • Structured Google AI Overview observations through the organic live advanced API
  • Google AI Mode observations through its dedicated live advanced API
  • AI answer text and reference parsing
  • Separate successful, no-result, and provider-failure states
Implemented workflows

How data moves through the integration.

Workflow 01

Check a Google AI Overview

Radar requests a live Google organic result through DataForSEO for the selected question and market, inspects the structured response for an AI Overview, and stores the answer and references or a valid no-result.

Evidence: Radar contains a direct DataForSEO AI Overview provider using the official live advanced API.

Workflow 02

Check Google AI Mode

Radar sends the question and location settings to the dedicated AI Mode live endpoint, parses the structured answer and references, and keeps the result labeled as AI Mode.

Evidence: Radar contains a separate DataForSEO AI Mode provider and response parser.

Workflow 03

Separate no-result from failure

Radar checks the HTTP response and DataForSEO task status. Valid results without an AI answer become no-result observations, while authentication, billing, validation, timeout, and provider errors remain failures.

Evidence: Verified in Radar's DataForSEO result classification and provider tests.

Authentication and operations

Access, secrets, and recovery are part of the build.

Authentication model

DataForSEO credentials remain in the server-side provider environment and are sent only to the official API over authenticated requests.

Credential handling

DataForSEO credentials stay in the server-side provider process. Public observations can include query context, answer, references, surface, timing, and result state, but not API credentials, task internals, account data, or billing details.

Failure behavior

Radar checks transport and task-level provider status. Valid responses with no AI element become no-result observations. Authentication, billing, validation, timeout, malformed-response, and provider failures do not become successful visibility results.

Vendor and implementation constraints

Limits that affect the scope.

  • The API is not the visual search interfaceDataForSEO returns a structured API representation. It does not reproduce the consumer Google interface or every account-level condition.
  • A no-result has a narrow meaningA missing AI answer in a valid response is evidence for that request, not proof that the surface never appears.
  • Request settings affect the observationLocation, language, device, live-endpoint availability, API cost, and Google's result behavior can affect a run.

DataForSEO integration FAQ

Questions that change the implementation.

Yes. Radar contains direct DataForSEO providers for Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, with structured answer parsing, references, location settings, and error handling.

No. Routeless sends authenticated requests to DataForSEO's official live APIs and consumes their structured responses. It does not automate the consumer Google interface.

If DataForSEO returns a valid result with no AI Overview element, Radar records a no-result observation. It does not call that response a provider failure.

No. Radar treats them as separate measurement surfaces because they use different DataForSEO endpoints and can return different answers or references.

No. It provides a structured live API result for specified request settings. Radar reports that method and does not claim to recreate every visual, account, or personalization condition.
