AWS cloud application development

Routeless uses AWS for client platforms that need managed application workloads, databases, object storage, content delivery, backups, and monitoring. For Furnished Habitat and VisaMind, that includes hosting application services, storing images or private documents, and supporting controlled file access. The exact services and controls depend on the product, data, traffic, and recovery requirements.

Evidence boundary

What the implementation proves.

Furnished Habitat contains AWS application workloads, a managed relational database, listing-image storage, controlled uploads, content delivery, backups, and monitoring. VisaMind contains AWS application hosting, a managed database, private document and source storage, controlled downloads, and monitoring.

The evidence supports these public capability descriptions. It does not publish account identifiers, regions, resource names, network layout, credential names, hostnames, or deployment commands.

Verified capabilities

  • Managed web services, background workloads, and scheduled tasks
  • Relational databases with automated backups
  • S3 storage for listing images, private documents, generated media, and source snapshots
  • Time-limited file uploads or downloads and controlled content delivery
  • Application, task, and infrastructure monitoring
Implemented workflows

How data moves through the integration.

Workflow 01

Operate the Furnished Habitat application

Managed web and background workloads use a relational database with scheduled backups. Monitoring reports unhealthy services and failed operational work.

Evidence: Verified in the Furnished Habitat application and infrastructure source.

Workflow 02

Store and deliver listing images

The application authorizes a specific upload, the browser transfers the image through a short-lived storage request, and approved listing images are delivered through a content distribution layer.

Evidence: Verified in the Furnished Habitat S3 upload and asset-delivery path.

Workflow 03

Store VisaMind documents and sources

VisaMind stores private documents and captured source material in object storage, issues controlled downloads for authorized workflows, and keeps source snapshots for later processing.

Evidence: Verified in the VisaMind application and deployment source.

Authentication and operations

Access, secrets, and recovery are part of the build.

Authentication model

AWS access belongs on the server or workload, with scoped identities and policies for the services each component needs. Browser clients should not receive long-lived cloud credentials.

Credential handling

Cloud credentials stay out of page markup and browser bundles. Workloads receive only the permissions they need, and temporary object access is limited by operation and expiration.

Failure behavior

Service health, failed jobs, and infrastructure alarms can notify operators without exposing internal diagnostic data to visitors. A failed processing job should not erase its source object, and database recovery follows the configured backup policy.

Vendor and implementation constraints

Limits that affect the scope.

  • AWS does not prescribe one architectureService choices should follow the product's data sensitivity, workload, availability, and recovery requirements.
  • Temporary links still grant accessA presigned URL grants time-limited permission for a specific object operation. Its scope and lifetime need deliberate limits.
  • Backups are only part of recoveryAutomated backups need tested restore procedures and defined recovery objectives.

Amazon Web Services integration FAQ

Questions that change the implementation.

The verified work covers managed application workloads, relational databases, S3 object storage, content delivery, monitoring, backups, and controlled file transfers. A new project may use a different set after its requirements are defined.

Yes. Furnished Habitat and VisaMind both contain S3-backed file workflows. The browser can use a short-lived, narrowly scoped request instead of receiving general cloud credentials.

Yes. The Furnished Habitat implementation includes infrastructure defined in code. Public pages omit account identifiers, network details, resource names, and deployment procedures.

Yes, when object permissions, application authorization, encryption, retention, and access logging are designed for the document workflow. Using S3 alone does not establish those controls.

No. The decision depends on workload shape, data requirements, operating responsibility, existing systems, and cost. The architecture should be chosen after those constraints are known.
